I speak as an American to the leaders of my own nation.
The great initiative in this war is ours. The initiative
to stop it must be ours."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This Wednesday, January 15th, marks 74 years since the birth of
Martin Luther King, Jr. in Atlanta, Georgia.
We must not allow Dr. King to be turned into a harmless icon by an
Administrtion which stands in direct contridiction to every principal
and ideal that he lived and died for.
Say No to War In Iraq
Defend Civil Liberties - No To INS Roundups
Fund Human Needs At Home and Abroad
On January 18, tens of thousands will march together in a Peace
Congress. That is the right way to celebrate the life of Dr. King --
to intensify the struggle for peace and justice, at home and abroad.

I will be at the San Francisco march at 11 AM with my 14-month-old son
and my wife, who will join us later. I hope to see many of you there!

There will be marches and acts of civil disobedience across the country and
throughout the world. Now is a good time to act!
